Distribution and importance of some endemic Astragalus L. species in semi-arid environmentally sensitive areas: a case study from northern Turkey

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: The objective of this study was to determine the distribution some endemic species genus Astragalus L. (Astragalus anthylloides Lam., lycius Boiss. and xylobasis var. angustus (Freyn & Sint.) Freyn Bornm.) species, interaction between soil, climatic characteristics desertification risk which affect these in semi-arid environment Çankırı, northwest Turkey. During vegetation period 2017, soil plant samples were collected from 180 points. Desertification (DR) environmentally sensitive area index (ESAI) calculated for each sampling point using indicator system Mediterranean Europe (DIS4ME). Results: According DIS4ME forest areas, DR values A. lowest with 0.49 (no risk) highest 3.73 (moderate risk), an average 2.20 field (low risk). For grassland, ranged a low 5.01 high 5.42. ESAI 1.34 1.50 areas where distributed, they 1.33 1.47 grassland areas. results analysis changes according land use types distribution. Conclusion: When relationships all three species’ are evaluated together, emerged as best determining status.

Roadside flora in arid and semi-arid natural areas (Case study: Northern Khorasan province, Iran)

Roads have an important role in plants dispersal on different scales. Various plant species settle on roadsides, but some of them can enter the natural environments and threaten their biodiversity. Worldwide knowledge of roadside flora is necessary for local and global management of natural areas. Accordingly, the roadside flora of Northern Khorasan rangelands was studied along the 600 km ...

Karyotype Analyses of Four Astragalus L. (fabaceae) Species from Turkey

Astragalus L. is a perennial herbaceous genus belonging to the family Fabaceae. Chromosome morphology was defined for the first time in four species of Astragalus namely; A. antalyensis A.Duran & Podlech, A. nezaketae A.Duran & Aytaç, A. cariensis Boiss. & A. schizopterus Boiss. All species contained diploid chromosome numbers of 2n = 16. However, polyploid cells (4x = 32) were also observed in...

Simulation of the catchments hydrological processes in arid, semi-arid and semi-humid areas

Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...
